About Crimestoppers

In 1976, a peace officer in Albuquerque, New Mexico, developed a system under which tipsters in the community would be guaranteed anonymity by state law, and promised cash rewards for information leading to the arrest of major criminal offenders. In 1981, a group of concerned citizens brought that model to Central Wyoming and, in association with the Casper police department, formed Crime Stoppers of Central Wyoming. It has been making our community safer ever since.

The statistics speak for themselves:

Cases Cleared: 1,816

Arrests Made: 729

Rewards Paid: $26,625

Property Recovered: $1,260,611

Drugs Seized: $2,152,478

Total Recovered: $3,413,089

Crime Stoppers is administered by a volunteer board in conjunction with applicable police, sheriff, and other law enforcement agencies. Our local Central Wyoming Chapter is responsible for raising funds to offer as rewards for tips that lead to solving crimes in our community, making our neighborhoods safer places to live and do business.

Your participation will help the people in Casper who have been victimized by crime. You can help stop future crimes by providing anonymous tips and/or sponsoring Central Wyoming Crime-Stoppers through donations.
